a/c drainage tube 1999 montana

Yesterday I went in and fixed all the corroded wire connections for my power door locks, and a few others. I remember reading a previous posting about the a/c drainage tube water blowing back into the cabin thus soaking the passenger floor and the wires but couldn't find it, in it was mentioned about getting a new tube or extension for the tube outside the firewall, was this a dealer sold item or off the shelves at another store. Just wondering if someone who already went through this had an easy suggestion, before I called the dealership.
Thanks

the hose somtimes falls off these vans i believe it is 1/2 or 5/8s 90 degree hose . if the hose falls off water can't get out beyond the firewall and will run back down inside it and end up on the floor where the wires are. i supergued my hose on . if it is not there look for a nipple sticking out of the firewall about 1/2" measure it across and go get the hose from a parts house a 90 degree hose and cut it about 1 " from the bend and glue it on with the long end hanging down. the dealer will cost you 4 times as much. i think i gave a dollar for a 90 degree hose for mine.

I could not find the tube neither. When I opened the carpet on passenger side, I noticed a draining hole with a rubber plug on the floor close to firewall. I removed the rubber plug and hope the condensate will be drained through this hole without getting to the area where the wires run.

jim, the a/c drain is on the firewall right above the inner tierod boot. you will most likely have to feel for it as the frain does not stick out past the firewall.this is the reason that the water drains in the firewall and down to the floor board.you will need a piece of 5/8" heater hose with a 90 degree angle in it. you will need to cut the heater hose to get it to fit. from the 90 degree have 1" of straight hose on one end on the other end have 3" of straight hose. this will let it attach to the drain and be above the tierod. you will need to glue it on the drain i used some super glue . you will need to do this from underneath the van or from the passenger side with the tire removed. just be sure to block the van and not just trust the jack.you ought to be able to buy a piece of heater hose with a 90 degree in it for about a buck.as for the water draining out the plug .most of the water will be absorbrd in the padding and corrode the wires.you need to vaccumn the water out of the carpet after you put the hose on.and be sure to replace the rubber plug so water can't be absorbed that way.
