Meguiars Scratch X vs Turtle scratch&swirl
I bought a tub of Turtle scratch&swirl because it was half the price of Meguairs and twice the size
. Tried it but didn't think it was any good on tamiya acrylics. It's safe to say a lot of modelers here prefer Scratch X as polish ,but I'm just wondering if anyone used Turtle scratch&swirl and what they think of it. Cheers Shonin |

Re: Meguiars Scratch X vs Turtle scratch&swirl
Can't say that I have tried the Turtle brand stuff. Is it new to the market?
I can't say I prefer ScratchX as I haven't tried the other stuff, but I can say ScratchX works great, and I have had a single tube for almost 2 years now. So unless you are building a lot of models, I am not sure the quantity should matter. You won't go through it fast enough to worry about. Heck, it might even dry up before you can use it, and that doesn't help the bottom line. I'll follow this one too, always looking for advice on good products. |

Re: Meguiars Scratch X vs Turtle scratch&swirl
I've compared ScratchX vs the three Tamiya polishing compounds, and the Tamiya wins hands down. Tamiya Finish produces an incredible gloss with no visible scratch pattern, even on dark colors.
The downside is that Tamiya Coarse (it's not) and Fine are not cheap, and Finish is outrageously expensive. But what a shine! Ddms |

Re: Meguiars Scratch X vs Turtle scratch&swirl
I used turtle wax polishing compound first, followed by scratch x, but i think it left something to be desired. I need to get some Tamiya compound to do a final pass.
