Question 2000 Bonneville SSEi *Not Starting*

When you turn the key to the start position what happens? Do you hear a single click? do you hear a bunch of clicks? does it turn over really slow? does crank over fine but take longer to actually start.

Single clicks are typically the starter. you can use a test light to see if you have power to the start terminal on the starter while somebody tries to start the vehicle. If it powers up and the starter doesn't engage its likely the starter has failed.

Many clicks are typically the battery as well as turning over really slow. It is also beniificial to take the battery cables off the battery and check for extreme corrosion which is common for these types of batteries.
Okay Mine is a 2000 Bonneville. We tried to start the car and CLICK... replaced the starter and CLICK!!!.. So what we did was test tha starter by connecting it directly to battery and touch it with a screw driver and it was turning.. But when i put it back on the car, it just click.. My friendly mech tried to help me and said maybe the starter needed adjustments and bout some flat silver things.. used 4 of them and still did not work.. Still getting a click.. Im gonna get started tomorro mornign.. what should i do, and what should i not do.. Im not very familiar with these cars but im learnign alot by reading.. Thank You..
** btw. I have a 2000 Bonnevile SSEi

WalMart oil change, could be the culprit! Have you looked for any leaks under the car?

is this a 200 SE, SLE or is it an SSEi?

You seem to be describing Hydrolock... I am thinking you may have a Plastic upper intake that has failed..

In any event its bad news..

SSEI so its a 3800 Supercharged.

Tough break man. Thats no good. I would check the oil level and pull the filter off. Try and look for anything that wal-mart may have done to cause the siezed motor. Locking up a 3800 is not un-common its just rare (especially for ones without the plastic upper intake manifold).
