Transmission Help
I have a 1993 jeep grand cherokee with a 42re transmission. I have a code 26 that is governor pressure sensor offset drift. I have no first gear when in drive. The only way i can get it is by shifting to neutral or park and going really fast to 1st. I replaced the governor pressure sensor and solenoid but still have the problem. Any ideas?

Re: Transmission Help
I have never adjusted the bands. Is it something easy to do after dropping the pan? Also I can still put it in first but only after going into neutral or park first, if the band wasnt adjusted wouldnt I lose 1st until it is adjusted right?

Re: Transmission Help
yeah or your tranny are rough shift ,sometimes slips,etc... it's on the driver side at the outside of transmission if you have the haynes book they show you the rigth place and the specify torque your tranny need or maybe you can find it in the web at the same time adjust the rear band it's inside the tranny near the filter its better to do both..good luck
