Whew, just did "repairs" and upgrades!

...all by myself. This is really the first time I got down and dirty with my car, by myself with no aid from another person.

I did:
1. Belt
2. Coil (MSD Street Fire)
3. 140 Amp Alternator (won't mount from the back sadly, bar isn't positioned correctly).
4. Transmission Fluid Conditioner

It took about 3 hours total to do it. I kinda needed the aid of my father to drill out the rivets on the original coils brackets (was that the original coil?!!?).

So far, it seems better, transmission appears a little more responsive actually, and throttle response is awesome. Just a little quirk though, when rolling forward slowly I can feel a slight misfire, not as bad as it was with the old coil though. Perhaps the plugs I had installed a year ago are already going bad. I don't know.

The hardest thing though I feel was the alternator. I had an old 104 amp or something like that, and replaced it with the 140 amp. It fits the main brackets, electrical connections, but that bar that secures it in the back isn't mounting, it's positioned in the wrong spot.. Maybe it can be moved to the right spot or something.

Pics tomorrow!! I'm BEAT!

Oh, how could I forget, I also added some fuel injector cleaner.

Though now of irony, someone is offering me a Mercedes benz for 12 thousand, if I sell this car.

I just can't get rid of her!! I feel odd turning down a Benz.

Heh if its one of those ugly Mercedes from the 70s or 80s i would def pass on that lol. as far as the biggest repair ive done, replacing the steering gearbox was a real bi*ch, followed by the intake manifold replacement

It's an '01..

Btw, here's the pics.

The install is fairly easy on mine. Just that bar in the back. Never did get it right.

And on here, the boxed piece is a bar that connects to the motor, that needs to be where the arrow is. Problem is, that bar is so solid you can't even get it to budge, it's extremely solid.

If weather is permitting, I plan to clean the engine with good 'ol elbow grease... AND the engine compartment. She needs a lot of TLC and some new plugs.

Ohhhh ok, good, easier than I thought. I'll do that as soon as the weather permits (we got lots of tornado warnings today)
