2.4L DOHC Engine, 5 Speed Manual Transmission

137,000 Highway Miles

Options: Z-24 performance package (165 HP DOHC Engine), power windows, power locks, keyless entry, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, power mirrors, CD player, sunroof, 16” alloy wheels.
New Parts: New tires less than 3 months old (4000 miles), Magnaflow polished stainless steel muffler, new brake pads and rotors on front, new brake shoes on rear, new spark plugs, axle seals replaced, fresh oil change and air filter, I also have new service manual that goes with it.
This vehicle has been well maintained and highway driven, I have used it to commute to school and average about 500 miles a week. This car is fun to drive, it is sporty and still gets very good gas mileage (35+ on highway), and is very dependable. Only reason I am selling is because I bought my wife a 2002 mustang convertible so I am keeping her 99 exlplorer for me to drive (we have 2 kids so its more practical...). This car has a salvaged title due to a minor front end collision (previous owner rear-ended a truck with a hitch sticking out below the bumper, replaced the hood, hood latch, and radiator support). Also there is a clattering noise at mid rpm under low load (I think it is a bad timing chain guide or tensioner). I'm looking for quick sale and am asking $1400 as-is (this is $900 below blue book value if there were no salvage). Or if someone is interested I would fix the noise for a few hundred more. Vehicle is located near sacramento, ca. I would be willing to drive a few hundred miles to meet/deliver for a reasonable fee to cover gas. I will post some pictures of the vehicle tonight or tommorow.

would you be willing to part it out since it does have a salvage title? because technically KBB says in that condition without being salvage its 1800 but with salvage title it does not even have a value. im really interested in the transmission, ecu, pedal assembly and everything else to convert my manual.

Here in Ca the kbb is $2295 for good condition...I know that a salvage depreciates it considerably that is why I listed it for so low a price. KBB says that for the true price you need to have an appraisal but I feel the price is fair. I would rather not part it because that is more work than I have time for and I don't think I would get that much more out of it. Also I forgot to mention that I will consider offers

It took me awhile to figure out how to upload them but...here are the photos I promised...





























Car is in overall good condition, body has typical door dings/scuffs for a car this age, and it has paint fade on the top surface of the bumpers like many other cavi's I've seen. I forgot to mention that I took the car in for the Ca emmisions test last week and it passed with no problem. Also the registration is paid until Jan. 2010. I have the title in hand and the car is ready to go!

Alright I sold the z-24 today for $1300 cash. I guess I won't be in this forum anymore since the cavi is gone. There are alot of good guys in this forum, and I wanted to thank everyone that has helped me out with questions and problems thoughout the last year and a half that I had the car.
