02 silverado 4.3 to 5.3 engine swap

has any 1 done it ? i wasn going to untill i herd that the indash gauges would not work. i realy wanna quit wasting money on the little v6 and get something that has power from the get go

You will run into a bunch of head aces and a lot of changing besides engine.

Trans and front end springs and supension and tires and brakes and rad exhaust and computers and wiring to start with.
Also insurance and state title regestration and lisense will need changed for bigger engine.

And it still may be illegal to operate it on a federal highway after you are done.
Saftey equipement and federal epa emmisions guide lines has to be done.

If you want a bigger engine just get another truck and be done with it.

Start with being extra nice to the wife.
After she says OK.

Figure out what you want and shop around for the best deal.
5.3 makes a good gas engine in Silverado.
But If you want power make sure it has what you want before you buy it.
