Re: Belt Squealing

What year and engine, and how many miles on the belt & tensioner? Possibly a worn/weak belt tensioner. Once a serp belt squeals, it's darn near impossible to get it to stop without replacement. The old "V" belts were a whole different ballgame, you could break the glaze very easily on them.... not so much on a serp, too much surface area and too difficult to de-glaze all of the grooves.

Re: Belt Squealing

2.2 liter with about 60,000 on belt and tensioner. Also check my other tread about hard to start 98 sonoma and see if you have any suggestions.

Thanks Railroadman
