dual xdmr7700 - faceplate stuck in up position
I bought the XDMR-7700 all of a week ago, and as I turn on the car today, where I usually expect the faceplate to lower into the display mode, it did not. Pressing and holding the reset button for upwards of 5 seconds did nothing to aleviate the matter either. The CD still loads, and plays even, but the faceplate will not move via the open button, nor the eject button, and though the open button or eject button is pressed, a beep will sound, but nothing happens for either button. Holding the eject button down for the few seconds results in a double beep, but the CD still continues to play, with nothing actually occouring.
Additionally - when the car is turned off completely the deck continues to hold power for upwards of 10 seconds, and sounding like it's playing either the cd or radio albeit very faintly with a lot of noise over the top of it (static/feedback?) then it shuts off. This was not happening at all prior to the faceplate not moving. I've been looking around for similar problems with other brand's decks that have motorized faceplates (two-step) - and haven't really come across a simmilar incident. |

that's something I would have to see to really get a good idea, but it sounds like your headunit has craped out on you

Re: dual xdmr7700 - faceplate stuck in up position
im sure everythign going wrong is probably a direct result of the faceplate not being able to open (as you probably assumed).. not sure why the cd continues to play faintly after the cars off.. but honestly you can try taking it somewhere to get unjammed but ive seen it happen with very low cost head units such as yours.
dont mean to offend in any way but dual products tend to not last. and moving parts such as a motorized face is likely the first thing to break. you can fix it, but it is likely something else will go wrong id say save up for a new head unit man

Same problem as yours with my deck. Bought the deck a month ago, turned car on in the morning face plate does not move down, music plays everything ok but can not access the cd or move the plate regadless button pushing. Have you tried the reset button? Hold it for 3 seconds ( ball point pen to press the button above power button) U will lose the presets but Oh weel. I am going to remove power completey from the unit later on today, and if it still has issues I am returning it for a replacement ( Bought it form Best Buy) L8R |
