'95 GA drivers floor always wet
Hello,
I just got a cheap '95 for my daughter ($800). The drivers floor had a "frozen lake" when we picked it up in January (Michigan). I thawed the car in the garage and vacuumed the water out, but the carpet is still wet. It is NOT coolant, because it freezes below 32 Degrees, and is not colored. The coolant level is steady. Anyways, it's spring, and every time it rains, the puddle apears. Seems to happen when the car is either just sitting parked, or moving. The floor has never dried out completely yet. I've taken the plastic cowling off (underneath the windshield wipers) and did not see anywhere water can get in. I applied fresh silicone on any seams and around the windshield that I can see, but water is still getting in. The passenger side is dry. Is there any "common" areas in regards to where to look next? Thanks! |

Re: '95 GA drivers floor always wet
Yeah this model of GA leaks under the hood, behind the strut towers and thru the fire wall. They used a chaulk like substance to seal the seams and it dries out and cracks letting water intrude.
A real pita to get to! If you search the forums you'll see many others with the same issue on wet floors. Hope that helps

You're Welcome !
Might also check the groumets along that part of the firewall. Thier's several in there where everything connects, dash to engine bay.
