Fan only runs on settings 3-4-5

My blower fan for my HVAC only runs when the switch is on settings 3-4-5. Do I need to just replace the fan switch or do you think it is something else?

Thanks for the help.

The blower motor resistor is an issue that creeps up in most GM vehicles. It usually starts with speeds one and two going out then progresses until only speed #5 works. The resistor is not expensive and is usually located next to the fan motor. I am not certain where it is located on the Montana!

The resistor is located in the same spot on the Montana.

It's a bit of trick to get at it, but I found that taking the motor out gave me a bit more room.

Here's a link to an old post that includes the beefed up OEM part number for the replacement resistor: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...motor+resistor
