Hi,
I moved to Canada when I was 20 from India. I drove in India and had a license and also got an international license made before I moved to Canada. However, after the move, I never got around to getting a license in Canada. (I think my Indian licenses expired too?) Now I'm looking to move to the US. But I figure public transit isn't as good, so I'll need to buy a car. I'm now 26, and I hear in GA I could go do the test, and get a full license right away. (I'm going to take classes before that though, just to familiarize with LHD) With no credit in the US, and currently on a visit visa, I don't know the process in getting a car. I'm interested in a high end car. Like an Audi/Merc/BMW. Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

Re: First time car buyer ever.
I hear in GA I could go do the test. Here is a link that will give you the answer http://www.usedcartips.org/DMV.html simply click on GA
When you ask about the process buying a car in the US, are you asking if you can get financed ? or simply how to buy a car ? To read into your circumstances that you may encounter in GA if your thinking to apply for a loan "tell me this " Have you at present got landed status in Canada, if so what is the first number on your Social security Card ?

Thanks for the response. And lol I'm a landed immigrant in Canada, and the number is 5. Regarding my question, yes I'm wondering about how to get the car financed. I was also wondering about leasing. Which one ever would be cheaper for me to get a good car. Thanks again! |
