1996 plymouth Van Dash Lights

hi there, i have a 96 Plymouth Voyager Van 3.3L the problem I'm having is, it has an electric start on it, which I'm not sure if it is a factory one or not. When I start my van with the electric start the dash lights are nice & bright, even after I turn the key on, then i put my foot on the brake & the dash lights go dim & the parking lights go out also. And sometimes my daytime running lights will work & sometimes they don't. When I turn my headlights on the dash lights are still dim, I try adjusting the up & down switch on the dash but no difference.
