'96 Dodge Caravan Wipers have a mind of their own! help!
What does it mean when the wipers do their own thing? Like if you have it on delay they pulse for a couple of seconds then end up going like they are on high then either stop or go back to delaying and it's getting worse and really annoying! please help!

Re: '96 Dodge Caravan Wipers have a mind of their own! help!
Welcome to the world of Chrysler electrical Gremlins. There are a ton of us out here (me included) who have this problem and it is and crap shoot (quoted to me by a Dodge Tech) as to how to fix it. You can start by pulling the grill of of the tub in front of the windshield and taking the wiper motor out , opening it up and cleaning out any gunk that yu find, or you can buy a new multi function switch (about $70.00) and replacing the old switch with the new. However, none of these things are guaranteed to work. I did the wiper motor trick on my '96 and it worked for a few months ad now I am back to living with the Gremlins in the system.

My '97 has the gremlins, too. Mine seem to be temperature related, as in more likely to happen the warmer the weather is. Will happen many times in a row, then not again for ages.
