Bravada Transfercase wiring
I bought a Bravada a couple months ago and the AWD has never worked. The light wasnt on when we bought it but came one shortly after we got it home. Today I found that the wires from the acculator (12ga Red and Blue) come up under the underhood fuse box and are not connected to anything! The red one has a eye terminal on it that looks like it should be on a 6mm stud. The blue one is just cut off. I dug around for awile but cant find where they should go. Anybody know where they should go?

Sorry, I don't know...guess I need to get a later year service manual.
Do you know or could you contact the previous owner? |

Re: Bravada Transfercase wiring
I would be willing to bet that is for the fuel pump test. If so, they are not supposed to be connected to anything, they are for testing the fuel pump. The red one would most likely be a direct line to the pump to bypass everything to make sure it will energize, so you do not buy a pump and later find out the relay was bad, or so on. Would it be possible to get a picture?

I think you may be correct on the fuel pump test wire. I stoped at a used car lot today and looked at one they had and that one had the same wires hanging out. Its a 98 BTW Any ideas how I can diagnose this? |

Re: Bravada Transfercase wiring
Get the code(s) read. It should point you in the right direction. There may be a way to check the code(s) without a reader or scantool. I know there is a how to somewhere on here, I think I remember seeing it in the blazer forum.

I have a code reader but it doesnt come up with anything for a "Service AWD" light. I took it to a shop in town to see if they could get a code out of it and the guy looked at me like I was drunk and said there he couldnt get a code out of it either. Are there codes from the "service awd" light? |

Re: Bravada Transfercase wiring
The red wire with the eyelet is for battery feed to a trailer. The blue wire is for trailer brakes. You need a body capable scan tool to read the AWD DTC's. Powertrain scan tools and code readers will not access the AWD codes.
