Does the odometer start over after 1 million miles?

Something I've wondered, on the newer model Camry's with the digital odometer, will the odometer read past 1 million miles, or will it start back over to zero? Because it looks like there's enough room for 7 digits.

(I know on my 02 Camry, the trip odometer starts back over to zero after 9999.9 miles).

Neither factory nor dealer be...my guess would be the electical engineers responsible for designing the instrument panel circuitry and the software engineers that program it. Shoot a letter to corporate...they just might answer you.

Or you could find out yourself...of course that'll take a bit longer than how long it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop.

(1,000,000 mi) / (20,000 mi/yr) = 50 yrs...that's for a road warrior.

(1,000,000 mi) / (15,000 mi/yr) = 66.67 yrs...more typical yearly driving.

Of course, this is presuming you live long enough to see for yourself. I'd try the letter first.

I'm betting it locks up at 999999 permanently

Do you think emailing them would work?

Actually, I've always had good luck calling Toyota customer service.
