Transmission or what?????????
My 94 wagon is very sluggish. When I first start it up a clicking sound can be heard from the driver's side inside of the transmission. It will sometimes idel down real low and cut off but starts right back up with no more problems.

The clicking noise is only heard when you first start it up and only if it hasn't been started in a while

Re: Transmission or what?????????
How confident are you that it's coming from the transmission? Did this start before or after the burnout of your avatar? Have you checked the condition and level of the transmission fluid? Are you sure it's not valve or lifter noise? I'm not sure if your '94 wagon would have hydraulic lifters or not.

Re: Transmission or what?????????
What is an avatar? I'm almost certian that the noise is coming from the trans. Maybe not so much as a clicking noise but a sucking noise. I ran a self check on it today and no codes came up dealing with the speed sensors. however I'm wondering if that may be the issue. When I get up to speeds of 70 the speed odometer will bounce from 70 to 65. It dosent do this at any other speeds.

Re: Transmission or what?????????
Your avatar is the little picture that shows up on the left of your posts.
On your '94 the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is basically a DC motor, and the speedometer is driven by a cable. The bouncing speedometer is likely due to a dry cable which may also be the source of the sucking noise. -Rod |
