Re: Top 3 Models

Top three with regards to what?

I'm constantly pulling out kits from my stash and looking them over. So the top three on my pile are usually the three I've looked at most recently.

Favourite models you've built I mean, for ease and finish.

Re: Top 3 Models

no offence but this is a daft question that everyone will give different answers to and for different reasons. It also assumes too much; like all we do is build what is in the box. Most of the time, the best bits of building a lit is in the making of things not in the box. Some times the crappiest, worst fitting, time consuming and troublesome builds are the best. It all depends on what you're after. Have a look at the big scale scratch builds going on. Or even look at MPWR's Ferrari Mythos' engine. There is also a legendary Lotus Elise that still doesn't quite exist that will be someone's favorite model. We also can't forget the fantastic work being done on the McLaren F1. Perhaps what you really wanted to ask is simply what kits are easy to build.

Re: Top 3 Models

Well I have the Mini on the bench right now, and thats a nice kit.

In my opinion some of the nicest out of box kits:

Tamiya - Porsche Carrera GT (black box kit)
Tamiya - Nissan Skyline GT-R R35
Tamiya - Nissan 350Z Track
Fujimi - Volkswangen Golf V - is also a really nice kit

Combine these kits with a good PE set and some good paint detailing you cant go wrong. Any more detailing will just make truly standout.

But thats my

Re: Top 3 Models

If you want ease, then as mentioned try some tamiyas like:

350z
bmw z3
skyline r32,r33,r34
etc.

Recent fujimi kits are nice too, as far as decent details, fitment, and overall look.

My top three are:
tamiya VW golf Mk IV
Revell Corrado g60
fujimi VW golf Mk V

But thats cause im a V-DUB fanatic!

the point is, the qualification does not exist.
Best/favourite kit/build/model does not always equal the easiest.

A quick look at the ones mentioned so far confirms this so already, many of our members' favourites are neither good fitting or easy to build.
