'84 dash says no charge, alternator?

its been sittin in my garage for a couple years, decided to get it going again. just got a new battery, starts great though the dashboard light says no charge thought it could be the alternator. i checked the belts and theyre fine not really sure what else it could be besides that.

any thoughts?

Check the voltage at the battery with your VOM with the engine running. It should read 13.5+ volts. What reading do you get?
