Williams Engine into an old Diesel Clio
Hi folks, I have an aging (L reg 1993) Clio Oasis 1.9d which is almost ready for the scrap yard. I am interested in saving the old banger from doom and turning it into a track car.
I know this will mean a fair bit of work, but feel this could be a cheaper way of getting a track car. Has anyone put a 1.8 16v williams engine into such a chassis? Is it fairly straight forward or will parts of the chassis need notching, cutting and splicing? Will the suspension from the donor williams along with the brakes etc also be a straight forward swap? I have a decent amount amount of mechanical knowledge and a fair amount of outdoor space to do the work. Any suggestions? Thanks for your helps Mike |
