I got a '93 sentra with regular locks. No automatic locking abilities cause its old. The door doesn't unlock with the key. You can lock and unlock it from the inside and open the door just doesn't unlock with the key. What do I need to look for when I take the door apart to fix this?

sounds like linkage to lock has come off.pull inside door panel off to inspect linkage
could just be retainer clip has come off

What year Sentra? I have a '93.

Will the key turn in the door? If not, the tumbler is probably seized. The trunk lock is probably stuck as well (they all do). If the key will turn, there are a bunch of plastic clips that hold some rods in place inside the door. One of those clips is probably broken off.

no the key turns while in the lock, but the door doens't unlock
