Serious steering problem 99 grand am gt please help

O.K. I have a 99 grand am gt and tonight I got my car stuck. I had to have somebody pull me out and now my car is not the same. The steering wheel is cocked to the right, the car swerves left and right, and the check tire pressure light comes on. PLEASE HELP ME !!

the car should be taken to a front end / wheel alignmentshop ASAP. what did you run over when you got stuck (ice block, curb, stone)?. what did you hook onto on the car to pull it out? the check tire pressure light comes on as you stated is not an option on a 1999 grand am that i know of. check the light again please.

Did you actually check the tire pressures? That light very rarely comes on if one isn't low. You may have knocked the sidewall in enough to let out a bit of air, punctured a tire, or the alignment may even be bad enough that a tire is sliding sideways enough the it is actually turning slower than the others (the system works by monitoring the wheel speed sensors and if one is always slower than the others, the light comes on)

It is a option on a 99 grand am

you most likly bent the tie rod, toe is the only thing that is majorly going to affect your steering postion

Putting it on a decent aligment rack is going to answer all your questions,it will reveal anything bent on the front end....anytime you take an impact from an abnormal angle its best to check the alignment.....and if you did impact the wheel get ready for a possible upcoming wheel bearing noise... a misaligned car will cost you money in the long run.

Welcome to AF carguy9927!!

sounds like its out of alignment.

Their could be a multitude of things damaged though, definatly needs a thurough inspection IMO. Just to be safe.

These cars werent made for off road use.
