Angry ZZP HID Headlights (not very happy)

Hey guys, wondering if anyone has had a similuar experience with ZZP HID's.

I bought a set for my g/f for x-mas, wrapped them up, gave them to her, recently went to put them in to find out the directions were so vague. They were even missing connectors that I emailed ZZP about and they never emailed me back. I ordered them through a different site.

So today I go and hook them up. It turns out that only the high beams are HID and the low beams are regular incondescant. There are two different bulbs in each housing. I was so pissed!

The set I have in my car I bought from a freind who got them off the net somewhere. My set has 1 HID bulb for each headlight. The single HID is able to produce both High and Low beam.

What should I do. It seems pointless to me to install "HID" headlights into her car that are only HID on high beams.

I'd like to return the set to ZZP, but since its been so long since I ordered them, I doubt very much they would give me my money back.

Where have you guys bought your HID's and were both the highs and lows HID?

Re: ZZP HID Headlights (not very happy)

hey Tim, got your PM about this.

i would be getting ahold of ZZP cuz it sounds like its the wrong set. the ones for the GP's only have one 9007 type bulb that is for both high and lows. i am almost positive you received HID's for the wrong car.

Re: ZZP HID Headlights (not very happy)

I bought that unit almost two years ago. I wasn't very happy. I bought the 9007 setup with separate high beams. However, it was the HID that were the low beams, and the halogens that were the high beams. Honestly the set was junk and few sets are worth buying. The ballast from one of the kits died in about 14 months. I bought another set on ebay, a 55W kit, but the high beams must be switched on to supply enough power. The kit on your car sounds like a 35w kit with a single bulb, but they contain an adjuster that angles the bulb when high beams are engaged. I have yet to find a kit worth buying. Even my 55w kit isn't brighter than my old zzp kit, but I think I might have an electrical problem.

Re: ZZP HID Headlights (not very happy)

ZZP will do nothing to help me. Their response...

"we do not accept returns on items purchased more than 30 days ago"

I even asked simply for zzp credit.

.....I spent a lot of my moolah at ZZP, lets see if I spend any more money there. I was just going to order a set of rockers and an o2 sim. I guess I'll take my business elsewhere.

Let them know that and also that you are a member a very very large car forum. Also let them know that you will let the members know not to deal with them any more. Especially in these hard economic times. Then ask them can they take a huge hit to their bottom line.

Re: ZZP HID Headlights (not very happy)

From what I can see ZZP's customer service has been flaky on and off for a few years. The problem is telling them you are a member of a large car forum doesn't do much good. Plus we should limit open disparagement of a supplier since every situation is unique and it depends on the circumstances or the particular part in question. The bottom line is buyer beware.

Re: ZZP HID Headlights (not very happy)

Yeah, your right. My fault. I have them for sale on CL and have already had an inquiry about them. I'll see how it goes.

Thanks guys.

Re: ZZP HID Headlights (not very happy)

Well it sound to me that you received the wrong hid system for your car, like the previous respondee had stated. I wouldn't even think twice about contacting ZZP about your situaition and tell the truth why you took so long you dont need to make up any stories. They can check the lot# and tell when they recev'd that alotment and they should also have in there system data-base. So goodluck and stick to your guns that is your money not thiers remember " the customer is always rite"so they say.

Well at least you got some money for them. Better them collecting dust some where in a closet.
