advice on plugs/wires

So my intake plenum melted, and I had it changed, along with the plugs (some Champion plugs?), but anyways, prior to this crap plenum, I had bought some AC Delco double platinum plugs, and Bosch wiring. Since the new plugs, the mpg has become better, but I'm wondering, is it still worth it to change out the Champion plugs for the AC-D's, and new wiring? Just advice needed here, thanks!

If not I dont think champion makes platniums, if they do, I;ve never seen them. So you probably have the copper core plugs in there. Which will be ok for a while, but for longevity, I'd go with the ac-delco 41-101 (if you dont have any mods)

Not sure about the bosch plug wires.

no mods, just a stock 3.8 and yea, pretty sure they are the copper ones. how long would they last? or even though they're new, should I still swap them out for the AC-D's?

Do you plan on dropping pully sizes at all?

Copper core plugs will usually last about a year.

Its your call. If your car runs good with the champion ones, might as well keep them. Then again if you have the delco's in hand, you could swap them out.

what does dropping pully sizes do by chance? (not really good/familiar with cars as you can see) and would the bosch wires be any better than stock?

he's talking supercharger pulley. If Im not mistaking you just have the L36 which is N/A

Since his intake plenum melted, I'm pretty sure this is a Vin-K 3800, not a supercharged Vin-1 Tim so the pulley questions are probably irrelevant.

IMO, Bosch wires are garbage just like their plugs. I would not use them or their plugs in my lawn mower. On the plug question, can you get us a part number on the Champion plugs you have? Champion does offer platinum plugs, so if it's running ok, why swap them out? You can get the money back you spent on the Delco plugs for a water pump (<---just kidding, that's a personal joke between me, Tblake and Bnaylor, ). I wouldn't choose them personally and would stick with Delco, but thats a personal choice.

On the ignition wires the key is to have the lowest resistance possible. You can do an easy check with a multimeter (DMM). GM specs is no more than 600 ohms per foot. So measure the resistance of each of the wires based on the total length. So for example if you measure a two foot wire then no more than 1200 ohms resistance give or take. Check the Bosch wires in a similar fashion. If they have high or higher resistance then get rid of them.

The replacement AC Delco Premium Silicone 7mm wires have very low resistance and meet GM specs. And aftermarket performance wires from Taylor and MSD are excellent and work fine. MSD wires have the lowest resistance.

dont think I can get the specific champion plug #, but the will be changing the bosch wires now though to the ac-d's thanks for the help

while we are on the subject of plugs...what do you guys think of NGK's? I just threw some NGK V-power plugs in my GT when i changed the darn coolant elbow

NGK's are fine, as well as Nippondenso, as they both make AC-Delco Platinum and Iridiums now that GM shut down the spark plug plant here in Flint, MI a few years ago.

The NGK V Power are excellent spark plugs and similar to the Autolite Copper Core that many of use based on mods and engine. Also, the NGK TR55IX Irdium plugs are excellent and cheaper than the AC Delco Iridium counterpart. I use the NGK TR55IX plugs in my Regal GS so have experience with them. We use the V Power in my son's modded 3400 Alero. No issues on either.
