'84 Nissan Truck Has Problems---

Ok. My Nissan Truck is having some problems. Its an '84 model pickup, manual transmission. Anyway. We were about 1/2 mile from my driveway when I was shifting, from 4th gear to 5th gear, when the stick got stuck over there in that general area, to the right. The pickup began to slow, and I gave it some gas, which just caused the engine to rev, and didnt take us anywhere. So now the stick is stuck (no pun intended) on the right of the shifting pattern, and only moves up and down. I want to make clear that its not in gear!!! IT IS NOT IN GEAR!!! It is in neutral but you cant move the stick at all as if it is in neutral, it just moves up and down in that right position. Can anyone help me out with that? Thanks alot.

Josh
