1996 3.8 liter windstar engine removal

is it possible to remove engine with hoist through top or does it have to come out of the bottom?

Out of the top looks awfully close to me ... but I have read that it has been done. The one time I have removed an engine; I dropped the subframe, engine, tranny and all. Fairly straight forward.
