Part Out: 1996 Amethyst 3000GT 5spd

I have a full Amethyst Pearl (purple) 3000GT. 96k miles on it, runs and drives perfectly fine. (engine does have lifter tick, but it has been sitting for who knows how long). I can run it with some new oil to see if that clears up the lifter tick.

Anyway, Full car part out. It was in a MINOR front end accident and issued a certificate of destruction (total shame, because it's easily fixable).

Front bumper, driver fender, both air bags and the windshield are trashed. I will not sell the hood because it is kinked in the front.

Both headlights are OK, however, the driver side does have a small crack in the lexan and at least one of the tabs is broken, passenger headlight is untouched.

Everything else is cherry.

Paint is gorgeous.

The interior is black, but not for sale at the moment, neither are the window regulators (the ones in my spyder are going bad).

Engine and trans run and shift just fine, all mechanics are in working order.

I'm located in PA, but shipping isn't a problem.

not gonna fix and sell this one? even with the salvage title, there might be interest because of the rare color.

it's not a salvage title. It's a florida certificate of destruction, but I bought it at auction on Long Island. It legally can not see the road again, it's no longer considered a car, but scrap metal

believe me, even if it had a salvage title, I'd fix it. It's totally worth saving, the car is INSANELY clean, and it has no frame damage, although I *THINK* the headlight bucket *MAY* be crinkled, I have to take out the headlight to check. It really is an absolute shame


The weird thing is, I tried running the VIN through the ypass storyteller, and it doesn't show up in their database. I found another 96 base model purple 3000gt, same as this one (same interior, etc), and that VIN didn't show up in the database either... but I double checked the VIN itself, and it's valid.

How weird is that?

there was another database around somewhere...i had it in my favorites but i lost them all. You might try that one.
What if you just rob the VIN from a parts car? swap the VIN plate and DMV will be none the wiser.
