i have a 90 gmc k 1500 5.7 recently the lower oil coolant line cracked and i replaced it followed by the upper one, except no one can find the correct part for me. I ordered one from the dealer it still isnt the right line they say it is. couldnt i just plug the holes off do i really need the lines anyhow? To my knowledge they just heat the oil faster in the radiator correct? thanks Ahileahi

Re: oil coolant line
The oil is cooled by the radiator. On my 90, I had new lines made at a place that makes hydraulic lines. I took off the lines and they cut off the old rubber part. The new lines use a compression fitting.

I am not sure if you can plug the lines or not. You might have to replace the oil filter adapter with one that does not have oil cooler lines. //2000CAYukon |
