Thanks for sharing that, Dan
(I bet someone was pissed about breaking the A-post in photo 50 )

Re: Trumpeter GT40
It was shown at the Ihobby show:
http://www.modelcarsmag.com/iHobby08/index2.html If Studio27 do some decals then we can build the 1-2-3 finish, sweet. Andy. |

Re: Trumpeter GT40
Some of the parts on this kit look alot like the 1/12th GMP diecast's. I wonder if they did rework the molds for plastic??

Re: Trumpeter GT40
Any new news about this? I must be the last car modeler on the planet to hear about this kit. This is huge! Notice they call this part of a 1/12 scale "SERIES". To me that says "this is just the beginning big scale fans, we plan on doing a D-Type, a 330 P4, a 917, a GTO, a Birdcage.......".

![]() There are some impressive pieces of hardware mentioned in that list: machined tire valves, braided steel lines, fabric covered sprung seat cushions, steel door hinges, mylar engine insulation, functioning shock struts.... If they want to sell more than 6 half that stuff will likely get nixed before release but based on their big plane kits a reasonable sheet of photoetch and a few other metal bits (springs, hinges) seems likely. This kit reminds me of those big Otaki/Doyusha kits released in the '80s/'90s. I'm excited. |

Re: Trumpeter GT40
Then again if the base kit is overly detailed it will bomb. Many kits of that type get purchased but never built because they are too labor/skill intensive.
