Dodge Caravan 97' Transmission Problem Morning

When first driving for the first 10-15 minutes the car engine will just rev up and not catch gear. When put into nuetral you can pump gas a few times then put into drive and it will go until you turn a corner then the problem will happen again. This only happens at the begging of the day. It will work for the rest of the day after it warms up. Any ideas? It is an automatic, 4cy, recent tran pan drop and filter change.

THANKS!

130,000

took about 3 qts. ATF-4

Yes the fluid change doesn't seem to have made any difference, good or bad.

Is check engine lite on?
It has been going on and off for about two weeks.

"Key dance" code 45

scanner codes read-
P1789 (2-4/OD Hydraulic Pressure Switch Circuit?)
P0700 (Transmission control system malfunction?)
P0732 (Gear 2 ratio incorrect?)

I have no idea where to start and I don't want to start throwing parts/$$$ at it without some kind of clue. Also, if it's something I can fix myself that is preferable as I have had BAD experiences with auto mechanics.

3 qts sounds kind of light..if you dropped the pan..have you checked your fluid level? Is it full? I' not sure but I think when I've changed mine that I used more like 5 qts

Also check all the electrical commections to input and output sensors, solenoid pack and TCM for looseness and corrossion.

Where there any metal particals on the pan bottom or magnet when you changed filter and fluid?

Check fluid level idling, in Park. 3 qts doesn't sound like enough to me, either.

Re: Dodge Caravan 97' Transmission Problem Morning

When I drained the pan, I estimated 2 1/2 quarts is what I caught. So I slowly added more until it showed full. I idled it for about 10 minutes and it showed full in the warm section of the stick.

Also, when I was checking the hoses that run to the radiator, I checked some eletrical connections. One was large (about 10-12 conductors) and two little ones (2 conductor). I'm assuming the big one was the solenoid pack and the little ones where sensors. They all looked pretty good.

On another forum, http://www.2carpros.com/forum/here-vp492148.html#492148
somebody showed me where the TCM is located I'll check that next. He says the KD code 45 means to replace the TCM. I hope I don't have to take it that far. I figure since the van runs fine after warming up that the TCM might be working correctly. yes/no?
