E-350 starting problem

I started my e-350 as normal, with no problem, got to my location, turned the key to the acc to let the radio run. tried to restart the van. basically the van had power I turned the key then the can clicked and went dead. then there was no power at all. I waited a while and there was power and the same thing happened. I tried a jump start which produced a clicking sound from the front passenger side of the engine compartment, but no start. I replaced the battery thinking the one I had was defective. I also changed the selonoid. But the outcome was the same. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.....
