99 cougar batt. and alt. help

i have 99 V6 cougar that keeps draining the battery within 10 to 15 min. I have replaced the alternator and the batt. and 3in. fuse by the firewall checked both fuse boxes. I took alt. back off and had it bench tested. I thought it was voltage regulator im lost please help

Disconnect the battery ground get a DVOM and put one end on the terminal and the other on the negative cable. Measure the amps then disconnect one fuse at a time until you find the circuit.
Problem areas stuck relays such fuel pump or computer. Hood light or door light staying on. This is the process just wait for the door lights to shut off before getting a reading. Pull this fuse first.

Hi, I seen that you had problems with your 99 mercury cougar.
I'm actually having a similar problem. Like you said how you drive 15 minutes, i drive like 5 and then i lose power to everything. If i let it sit for 15 minutes it starts back up. I changed the altanater 3 times and the battery once. We bought new terminals and we cant figure the problem out. If you found out what the problem was could you please message me back. Thanks. Marcie
