99 ls rear valve cover removal, tensioner assy?
does the tensioner assy have to be completely removed to get the rear valve cover off a 99 3800 ? wanting to change the valve cover gasket.

No. You can get to the one corner valve cover bolt without removing the tensioner assembly. There are 2 bolts on top and 4 on the bottom. Just enough clearance to get the valve cover out and back in with the new gasket.

thanks, I took the alternator off this weekend, and noticed there was only small amount of clearance between the alumimun bracket and top of valve cover.. didnt look like enough to get the cover off and be able to clear the rocker.
