1997 f350 turbo wooshing noise
my 1997 f350 makes a loud wooshing noise coming from the turbo usually when it is cold. it only happens arould 1000-1500 rpms in gear. I thought it might just be beause of the cold air intake i have on the truck but then i thought there might be a bad sensor or something. it usually goes away after the truck is warmed up and restarted. just want another opinion.

that is normal when cold it it the exhuast back pressure valve [ebpv] it help the truck warm up to know more about your 7.3 visit the ford powerstroke forum
