zc build up question

This is what I have so far for a ZC/VTEC Build up FOR A 1988 HONDA CRX DX.....give me suggestions if i need more parts, also correct me if something cannot be compatible.

1. ZC Block with Tranny
2. SOHC VTEC head and Intake manifold (from 92-95 civic)
3. What DISTRIBUTOR do I need ??
4. I KNOW THE I HAVE TO REDO THE WIRING TO CHANGE THE DUAL
POINT INJEC. TO MULTI POINT. (HASPORT CAN DO THE HARNESS)
5. RESISTOR BOX FOR THE ADDITIONAL INJECTORS
6. VTEC solenoid
7. What ECU can I use?
8. I also have the original engine SOHC/VTEC harness from the donor
motor (92-95 Civic) will this be any use for the swap??

Right now I bought this CRX DX with the ZC block in it already. THe head was from CRX SI and they left the intake manifold as a DX meaning it is running on DUAL PNT Injec. I just need to build the head
and manifold to accomidate the VTEC/SOHC Is all this Going to work ?? Thanks to whoever................

the set up your talkin about doin is called a mini-me. which is basicly a vtec sohc on a 1.6l block. if you do have a zc block, for get about the vtec. get you a zc head and have a full blown zc motor instead of the mini-me...youll be much happier. 130 hp compared to 120 hp. if you like the vtec, just add on some extra bolt ons for more power. i have extra head layin around if you care to look for one. i have zc in my crx with a few bolt ons and SOHC's aint got nothin on me. the zc swap is a straight bolt in with si....with dx u need the wiring harness offf of an si along with ecu(integra ecu preferably) much simpler project than the mini-me. my motor pushin close to 160-170 hp. im bout to go turbo and turn it into a 13 maybe 12 second car if im lucky. hope this information helps ya out.... and if ya still want the vtec, spend the extra money and go with a b16 series...

apocalypse is right

why would you wanna use a mini-me swap when you have a ZC sitting right there... power gains? none really, the SOHC head doesnt flow as well as the ZC head, and due to the greater valvetrain mass ine the SOHC head you will have more frictional losses from the valvetrain anyways... so not only will the ZC head make more power to begin with, it will respond to mods better too, due to its simpler valvetrain.

VTEC isn't all that.

well I got a first gen crx that has a d15 and I know that other gen motors can be swapped over but not easily, I no the zc motor can be swapped, I am new to hondas so help me out a bit, most engines look to be a bolt in except for the top engine mount. can any mounts be swapped over or is it a custom made mount

tell me what are best for the money compaired to complex of install
what are the differences in all the motors that honda and integra make

from 88 to 95

ZC Build up

Do you still have any DOHC ZC Heads around to sell. Thanks for the info man. You mentioned the CRX Si harness, is this harness OK to use with the DOHC ZC head when I do the swap. To my understanding, all I need is to tap into additional injectors with a resistor box, a different distributor, then to an SI ECU. I have a CRX DX now so obviously I need to do this wiring conversion. Let me know if this info is correct.
