Re: Illinois Governor Blagojevich Corruption Scandal and Obama Calls for His Resignation

Blago and Obama, both part of the corrupt Illinois political system. They're both "turtles on a fence post", no one knows how they got there, but they sure as hell had to have help from somewhere. In this case, lack of information on the voters part is what got them both in office.

The sad truth is that we're all losers now. All could have been avoided if people did their homework before voting.

What gets me is the Bill Clinton Cabinet and Staff and maintaining Bush's policies. Just the change the country needs.

To be fair we'll see how the next 4 years works out but I would not hold my breath either.

President Select admitted last week that he "won't be able to implement several of the things" he promissed in his campaign.... surprise, surprise! Anyone that was paying attention last November saw THAT one coming a mile away!

Usually that's an observation made by the people after the term runs out. This clown is admitting it before he even takes office! Just shows his inexperience, that's all. There'll be plenty more displays of inexperience...at our expense.

He is entitled to his opinion(s) just like the over 57 million Americans that did not vote for him. There is a big difference between flip flopping and telling the truth.

Wait 'til you see what the big "O" has in store for us relative to Iraq and Afghanistan. We're getting new op orders here.

On promises G.W. Bush did keep the U.S safe and from no further terrorists attacks on our soil since 9/11. What Obama can do remains to be seen.

And speaking of the bleeding heart liberal anti-war types or people that normally speak up or overtly outspoken in this forum I'm surprised no one has mentioned the recent actions by Israel in the Gaza.

Re: Illinois Governor Blagojevich Corruption Scandal and Obama Calls for His Resignation

So Obama is not allowed to change his mind or tell the truth?
I've never understood your nation's obssession with the notion that changing your mind on issues is automatically a bad thing.
Is it called flip-flopping (a media termed phrase I should point out) when it doesn't suit you but educated decisions when it does?

Would it be prefered if he didn't change his mind no matter new information comes to hand, or change accordingly but lie about it?
Would the "experienced" course of action to have been to lie about it?

For the sake of the discussion, what things has he said he will not be able to carry out?

The flip flopping issue on Obama is an old discussion and we have covered that over and over. To start we will have plenty of time in the future to discuss Obama and whether what ever he applies works or doesn't. Also, keep in mind he will need the support of Congress which includes the minority party Republicans.

BTW - Flip Flops are used commonly in electronic digital circuits and follow Boolean logic. Politicians don't.

If you want to discuss Obama further then please start a new thread.

Re: Illinois Governor Blagojevich Corruption Scandal and Obama Calls for His Resignat

Man, talk about a person being delusional.

Blago's impeachment trial is scheduled to start at the Illinois State Senate today but instead of attending it he goes out on a publicity stunt campaign by going on talk shows.

And he has the nerve to compare himself with Mandela, Martin Luther King and Gandhi.

Quote:

Blagojevich makes TV rounds as impeachment trial set to begin

"And then the day unfolded and I had a whole bunch of thoughts -- of course my children and my wife -- and then I thought about Mandela, Dr. King, Gandhi and tried to put some perspective in all of this, and that's what I'm doing now."

Hot off the press. Blago is out and impeached. No one rose to his defense. Bi-partisan 59 to 0 vote to convict him.

Good riddance!
