Well, i'm trying TS-13 over decals for the first time..

I've been a little hesitant to try it, but I decided I was going to give it a shot on my avex dome mugen NSX. decals have been drying almost 48 hours, and i just put on my first mist coat just fine. should I wait an hour or so between mists to be safe?

One to two hours between mistcoats. Spray it on as light as possible. If you're not spraying it through an airbrush, use the warm water trick to heat the can before spraying- it will improve the flow and make light coats easier.

Very nerve racking experience.I've destroyed a few models with TS-13, so I just refuse to use it now. There are many better alternatives available, so I won't risk it any more, but good luck with it and like has already been said, go light and easy with the first few coats and let it dry well in between coats.

A few different brands. Zero 1K and 2K, Finishers Auto Clear, U Pol 1K, Mipa 2K and sometimes Gunze Mr Top Coat (the water based stuff in an aerosol) I've tried all these over most types of decals with absolutely no adverse reactions at all. My favorite clear of the moment is the Zero 2K. It gives an excellent shine and finish straight from the airbrush and leaves little in the way of polishing work.Just take the necessary safety precautions (Spray booth and mask) and it's fine.

Checked out the U Pol 1k Lacquer Clear. At Ditchek.com, it costs only $4.95 for a 500 ml can - WOW, that's cheap and definitely worth a try after I use up this can of TS13.

The website is http://yhst-13811118617756.stores.ya...ajaclpoca.html.

Thanks.

Steve, do you decant UPOL clear? If so, do you thin it or shoot it as-is?

This is the U-POL 1K that I use

It comes in a 1ltr can, pre thinned for spray gun use. But its a little too thick for the airbrush so I thin it with basecoat thinner the same stuff used to thin Zero paints, Ratio 1:1
