2000 Suburban dtc P1416

My wifes 2000 chevy suburban 1500 5.3 engine had the ses light come on the other day, I hooked it up to the scanner and it gave me a P1416 code. Which is the AIR system bank 2. I've heard that it may be the metal check valve from the AIR system to the exhaust pipe on the passenger side of the engine. Could this be the problem or am I off track. Every time the ses light comes on all I can see is dollar signs. thanks

Re: 2000 Suburban dtc P1416

When this code came up on my 2000 Yukon, I removed the check valve and it was rusted shut so I replaced it. That fixed that code. A month later, I got the code for the other side so that may happen to you as well.

Re: 2000 Suburban dtc P1416

Clear codes and see if it comes back.
Any othjer codes?
2000CAYukon has a good idea on check valves.
And Check hoses and pipes and wiring and vacuum lines real close
If it is not that you need proper testing with a good repair flow chart for that code.
A good factory repair manual or a all data online sub.
http://www.alldata.com/products/diy/index.html
Has the repair flow charts .
