94 clutch pedal switch

94 doesn't want to start unless clutch pedal is pressed all the way to the floor board, is there a adjustment on this switch? Buddies truck so I haven't looked at it yet.

Thanks for advice

I understand the safety issue, just asking if there is a little adjustment so you don't have to push it so hard that you think it's going to thru the floor board. Gear shift lever should be in neutral not in gear when starting to begin with.

Re: 94 clutch pedal switch

I'm sure there's some adjustment available. My Escort has the same thing and there is a litltle black box with a plunger coming out of it. If you don't want to be bothered anymore with it there is 1 wire running into it and 1 wire running out of it, so just scrape some insulaton off of the wires and run another wire around the switch. I agree. It's not needed. I bypassed mine in the possible scenario of being stalled on a train crossing with a train coming and not being able to get if off the tracks with the starter.
