33’s WO a body lift…

I like to hear from folks/see some pictures for those that have installed 33x10.5x15’s or 33x12.5x15’s on an Xterra without using a body lift.

I’m pretty sure that trimming my ARB a bit, removing the fender lip plastic mounding pieces, and removing some material form the wheel wheels will allow me to run 33’s without any major clearance problems but would like to hear opinions, tips, recommendations from those that have considered/done this?

Keep in mind that I already have a 3” suspension lift, don’t mind using the sawzall if necessary on the fenders, and my X is primarily used as Xcursion vehicle rather than a daily driver.

I would like to know as well. I will soon be trying to fit some 35x12.50 MTR's under my X with the 3+3+SLR fiberglass fenders. We will see what happens.

Well if it requires that then I will try running the 33x12.50 SSR's. Im not ready to chop up my ride. Do you think they 33's would fit Todd?

I just put 35 x 12.5 MTR's on my 69 Bronco and I rolled them up to the X before I mounted them today and there is NO WAY they would ever fit without a sawzall, just in the rear they go from edge to edge and then some.

As for the 34x12.5 SSR's(that's really what they are) like I said on XOC takea shot, rim choice will be critical and you will have to turn your steering stop out up front or risk tearing your brake lines off but you should be able to sell them again. In the rear use bumpstop extensions, which is just a piece of 2x2 box steel with some holes to prevent them from stuffing all the way. Remember if those lugs catch the body it will tear shit off.

I already know all about the Lugs from the 32x11.50 SSR run on the 3" suspension lift. THey are bitch and will do some damage. Ill try them out see what I can do and post what happens.

Anyway, I was running 33x10.50r15 TSL/Radials with only a crank of the T-bars and some trimming. Those tires are real narrow, about the same width as the 15" stock Long Trails on most 2000s. You can check out pictures on my web site at http://www20.brinkster.com/swampwrecker.

I installed a 2" body lift and mounted a set of 33x12.50r15 TSL/Radials over the weekend, on the stock Alloy wheels. There's no way these tires would fit without a lift. When I mounted the tires, I had not raised the front bumper (just didn't have time). The front tire was contacting the bumper end piece on the passenger's side. Fortunately I had my dremel with me and trimmed enough so I could drive.

I did test them on the trail (sand and mud, no rocks) and there is some rubbing I can probably eliminate with more plastic trimming and one more turn of the T-bars. Ideally a 3" BL would probably fit these tires well as they are just a tad wider than the 32x11.50 BFG MTs.

I do not have pictures of the tires on the truck yet, but I hope to take some tonight or tomorrow and will post them if anyone is interested.
