Head Gasket Leak or LIM Gasket?
We have removed everything down to the exposed heads. After removal and inspection of the plugs, I dont think its the head gasket but the LIM gaskets. Is this a common problem? Thanks, Mark

Re: Head Gasket Leak or LIM Gasket?
On the 60º V-6 engines, the aluminum surfaces can deteriorate and allow leakage. They are repairable.

Could this be repaired without removing the head?

Re: Head Gasket Leak or LIM Gasket?
If the eroded/pitted area is thoroughly cleaned, it can be filled with a metal-bearing epoxy. Once the epoxy is cured it can be scraped flat treated like metal.
This one has lasted since February of 2006:

Re: Head Gasket Leak or LIM Gasket?
It is a common problem and get the Dorman kit which is complete with new bolts. The intake gaskets from the kit are made out of metal instead of the crappy plastic GM uses
