Xsara WRC questions

Just needing a bit of advice re Xsara WRC body colours.

Firstly, what would you guys recommend for the 'Citroen' factory team red? I've gone back through my videos & seem to come up with a couple of different colours. The T4 F2/early WRC cars appear to be a brighter red than the later WRC bodies which are almost the colour of the older, deeper-hued Ferrari red.

Secondly, what about the Gauloises Kronos team blue that Loeb's car wore in the year before he switched to the C4? It also appears to be a lighter colour than say, Rossi's Yamaha bike.

Open to all thoughts guys...

Well, first a bit of Xsara history:

The kitcar F2 car wasn't a T4, the T4 was the preseason name of the awd FRC (France rally car) which become the WRC.
They used on this kitcar the same color than on the wrc and now the C4 (and already the ZX GR, the saxo kitcar...)

The red color is taken in the Peugeot/Citroen color range and is named VALELUNGA RED. I don't remember the brand code 'peugeot or citroen) but you be able to find it with the name as it is a very common color.

The blue on the 2006 Gauloises is the RAL5002 already used by Renault on the Megane Maxi DIAC and the Bozian team's Peugeot 206 WRC in 2002.
It's not the metallic Gauloises blue which is if I'm not wrong the one used on Rossi's bike you must be thinking about.

Re: Xsara WRC questions

Thanks Phil for the history on F2 kit/T4/Xsara. I always thought the T4, which won Catalunya & Corsica IIRC, was an F2 car. Anyways...

Yes, Rossi's M1 is a metallic blue, which many people have trouble matching. I think most tend towards Tamiya's 'Telefonica Blue' spray. Handy ref on the Pug too. I have the decals for Rovanperra's MC car. Does the same colour apply for Simon Jean-Joseph's Gauloises 206? Renaissance suggest a cobalt blue...
