2000 Buick Park Avenue Leaking from Oil Level Sensor

Recently all of my oil spilled out of my car and it sounded like it started misfiring (the misfiring is probably a separate issue). I would like to atleast get the oil leak taken care of first.

I noticed the oil leak was coming from the center of my Oil Level Sensor. NOT leaking around the seal that's touching the pan but from the center where it appears something should be connected to it.

Does something connect to this Oil Level Sensor? I don't see any wires / hoses hanging that look like they should be connected here?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 2000 Buick Park Avenue Leaking from Oil Level Sensor

ok, after googling this all day, it sounds like i'm looking for the Oil Return Line.

Is that correct? Why would this have just disappeared?

Also, if I'm correct. How do I fix this. Is this a hose I can get at the local autopart store? Do I need any special tool to fit it back onto the Oil Pressure Sending Unit or the Oil Level Sensor?

have you looked at oil sending unit to see if it's leaking? and there should be a line that plugs into it with one round hole in line but it's not a vaccume line should be elct. line...

i haven't looked at the oil sending unit yet. But I will when I get home. I'm assuming its leaking also....

So just to clarify, the Oil Level Sensor that is in my oil pan should have an electrical line plugged into it?

I'm positive oil is coming out of the Oil Level Sensor.

Replace the oil level sensor and find & reconnect the electrical plug that connects to it.

Ok thanks, I'll try that. So this electrical wire connects to the sending unit? If so, then I guess I'll start looking there.....
Thanks again
