'02 GC - fan recall & recourse?
purchased it as a used car 2 years ago
had it in for recalls to dealership which did not fix the electric fan recall - is there a way to check if it was done prior to purchase? it broke last night and shot fan pieces through the radiator which also needs replacing and this happened out of town - any thought or suggestions on recourse and to whom and where - details appreciated thanks |

call the dealer with your vin # the can check if any related and or open recalls are present

Yep, call the dealer and have them check the vin. Also, make sure that the warranty is still in effect - it may have a date or mileage after which it's no longer valid.

Take it to the dealer. The fan blade recall is a serious safety issue, if the recall has been performed and the new fan failed Chrysler is still liable for a defective product. But my guess is it was never performed, the recall was issued about two years ago, the former owner may have received the notice after it was sold. Notice of Recalls should follow any succeeding owners and have no expiration date. You can contact DaimlerChrysler at 1-800-853-1403. Have your vin # handy.
