1998 chevy 3500 HD Heater problem
I need to replace my heater motor. It started to make noise and squeal. If you hit the housing it would work but know will not come on. High speed does not work and I think the resistor is good. Can some one tell me where I can get a replacement for this other than the dealer. Is there a company that sell replacements. I tried ebay and no good. This is a 3500 HD tow truck. The motor will unbolt from the front under the dash/glove box. I tried to google make and model and no good.

Re: 1998 chevy 3500 HD Heater problem
only place i know is a junk/salvage yard.. call around and compare prices and guarantee that it is a good one. if they won't stand behind it go elsewhere.the brushes are most likely worn out,if you can't find a motor might be able to get a set of brushes and make it work.the squeal was the bearing [brass] if there is not too much play in it you can grease the bearing . orielly's used to sell blower motors don't know if they still do or not.

Your local parts places should have new motors.
