67 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Club Coupe

I bought this vehicle last week from Michigan and drove it to Birmingham, AL and it runs great. However, my fan doesn't work and I was wondering if anyone can give me some tips on how to troubleshoot it. I checked the fuse which was good. I'm thinking it may be the blower motor but I'm not sure. Is there anyway I can test the blower motor? I want to get this problem fixed because I have lines for A/C and I'm going to install that plus the condensor and compressor in the future but first I need to get the fan working.

Very basic here, get a test lite and make sure you have 12v to the wire and the blower is properly grounded, I would suggest you also get a a shop manual.

Not getting off the subject but I've noticed on these models that there is a PCV valve on one side of the valve cover with a hose running from it to the carburetor. The othes side has a round object in the other valve cover. What is that object called?

From what you describe, it sounds like breather. Here is a picture of one, some may not have the element exposed, rather the unit is covered in metal or chrome.
