Rover 400 Driver side door locked shut

Please help, I went to exit my car the usual way by pulling on the door lever and it suddenly felt loose and wont open. The central locking door catches go up and down on all doors by pressing the key fob. I cant open the driver side door from the inside or by using the key or by pulling on the external door handle. Im really stuck as i am currently entering and exiting the vehicle by sliding over to the passenger side. I have noticed also that if i go over a bump when im driving the car, the central locking activates if i go over a bump locking all the doors. Has anyone had or know how to resolve this problem please.
