no communication with scantool.

Hi all. The enging light came on my wife's 2004 Montana 3.4L but when I connected my OBD2 code reader I get a no power error. It will not communicate with the PCM at all. I'm using an "Innova 3100" and get "errpr" message. Is there a fuse for the DLC that I can check, if so which fuse block is it in (engine compartment or beside glovebox)? I will check for voltage with a meter at the DLC connector later but thought maybe someone else had some more info regarding this. Engine seems to be running fine but too early to check fuel economy. I checked the code reader with my van (1999 transport) and the tool works fine. I also checked it with a friends 04 Montana and it links just fine. What else can I look for besides a fuse? I'm at a loss if I cannot get the code(s).

Re: no communication with scantool.

I found the problem. A blown 20A fuse for the DLC is on the same circuit as the cigarette lighter. My wife's cell phone charger was not plugged in properly causing the fuse to blow. The code was P0128. (engine coolant temp did not reach the thermostat rating). Now I know what to check.
