idle problem

i've got a problem with my 1997 pick up it has a 350 with a 4l60e tranny it is 4x4...it happens about every third morning when i start it first thing in the morning...it starts and idles for about 2 seconds then dies just like you reach up and turn the key off

no codes at all ...i did a tuneup on it about 3 months ago with fuel filter...i put a new delphi fuel pump from the dealer about 9 months ago...the problem started about 2 weeks ago....after it dies once you can start it again and it cranks like nothing is wrong and its good for the rest of the day..it runs strong no missing or hesitation at all.....i was thinking something with the idle control maybe...but seems like that would have tripped a code......any help is greatly appreciated thanks

Have you checked and cleaned the battery cable ends, espically the positive double cables? Make sure they are tight also.

Re: idle problem

I was wondering if the security light is flashing when the vehicle is acting up.

Re: idle problem

Could be funky contacts in the fuel pump relay.
