I TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT AND THEY STATED THERE WAS NO PROBLEM FOUND. I RECENTLY FILLED CAR UP AGAIN WITH GAS SINCE THEN AND THE SMELL OF FUEL FUMES CAME BACK INTO CABIN. NOW I KNOW I'M NOT CRAZY AND OW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGGHT IS ON. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON. HEEEEELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Heeey, I SMELL FUEL IN THE CAR.
Welcome to the forum! Per the forum guidelines which I'm sure you read prior to posting, PLEASE DON'T TYPE IN ALL CAPS AS THAT IS CONSIDERED RUDE (YELLING) AND IS ANNOYING!!!
Since the Check Engine Light (CEL) is currently illuminated, swing by your local auto parts store and ask them if they would have time to check the codes in your car. If so, try to get the complete code, in the form P0123, and post it here. That may hint to the source of the odor, such as an Evap Purge Valve circuit fault or EVAP system leak. Much of the EVAP system connections would have been removed and presumably reconnected as part of changing out the fuel pump. Do you only notice the smell after filling the tank? How far down does the level need to get before you no longer smell the fuel odor? Did you have the tank full when you took it to the dealer so they could smell the odor as well? -Rod |
